We've all heard that line. "...purple mountain majesty". But seriously people. There actually are purple mountains. I swear. I'm not pulling you leg. At times the mountains out here in the west look bright pink. Sometimes deep vibrant purple. Originally an east coast girl, I always thought it was just figurative language. Imagine my delight. It's not figurative. It's true.
I've fallen hard for these expressive piles of rock. Hard. Purple mountains majesty.

Purple Mountain Majesty
Small town, mountain road sunset
Driving along a small town road with mountains all around i snap shots of the scenery.
A quiet artists' town.
Madrid, New Mexico.
Colorful homes, fences, people.
It s sunset and God is showing off once again his gorgeous array of sky colors.

Christmas Peace
Don't you love the way snow falls and rests on the branches of the trees. It stays. It rests. It abides in peace until it is time to be warmed and melted away.
May the peace of my Savior abide with you and me. Let it rest. Let it stay in our hearts as our shield against worry, our sunshine, melting any hardness of heart that may try and creep in. Hold onto, bask in the relief and joy of His peace. You may need it for those joyfilled, not so peacful family celebrations. Wink. Wink.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
My brother John said it well. "Peace I (Jesus) leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. DO NOT ALLOW your hearts to be troubled and do not be afraid. " -John 14:27

Moody Land
Since our big move this summer to Albuquerque I've been somewhat of an explorer.
Exploring the new landscape here has been extraordinary. Everything here is different from the east coast. Trees. Colors. Flowers. Sky. Even the dirt is different; sandier, redder, varied... The land is moody. Pink mountains. Blue sky without a cloud in site. Scorching sun. Deep colored mesas with stripes through the rocks. Dramatic sunsets. The colors are vibrant, ever changing and beautiful!
